What's your business name and where can we find you?
I am not a business but an artist and my name is Charlotte Farhan, but my Facebook name is Abstract/Naïve - Expressionist - Artist - Charlotte Farhan which I am also known as.
My web address is http://charlottefarhan.artweb.com/
The gallery I sell through online is http://www.artgallery.co.uk/artist/charlotte_farhan
And my facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/Artist.Charlotte.Farhan
How long have you been in business?
I have been painting since I can remember. I have enjoyed all aspects of art and only ever dreamt I would be able to do it as a career. I am not quite there yet but I am willing to put all the hard work in and I have been actively pursuing my career as an artist for a year and I love it. Even though the money is not rolling in, I am my own boss and very fortunate to be doing something I love so much.
What items do you sell?
I sell my own original paintings. I mostly paint with acrylic and on canvas blocks which I create so they can be hung as they are without a frame. I have my own collections, portfolio/gallery work, commercial/decorative work and I also do commissioned pieces.
Tell us about 2 of your favourite products or best sellers.
My first favourite painting is Les Maison De Ville, Grasse, Provence. I am French, I have dual nationality and I am bilingual in both French and English. I love France and hope to return there soon. Last year I took my husband on a mini tour de France for our honeymoon to show him "my France". This painting is of the beautiful old town houses in the South of France; they are very colourful and interesting. This particular painting is of some houses in Grasse, which is the perfume capital of the world and very pretty. I have captured a style and “joie de vive” of the French lifestyle and the rich colours which encompass you whilst there.

My second favourite is Les Fleurs De Provence. This is from the same series of paintings from the South of France. This painting is of the beautiful pink flowers you get in Provence. The rich colour and the beautiful backdrop of the Azure blue sky. I have also done this in an impressionistic/expressionistic style to honour the great painters from my country of France and the landscape they loved so much in Provence.
The reason I have picked these two paintings is because they have both been selected for an exhibition this summer at The Art House, in Southampton. They also have got me an invitation to submit to a New York gallery in the art district of Chelsea called the Agora Gallery, so they mean a lot to me.
How did you get started/what made you start your own business?
I started by taking up my studies again in the arts, such as painting, drawing, philosophy and art history. From these studies I gained confidence in myself and my art. I then decided to pursue my painting career after not being able to get a conventional job due to an ongoing illness I suffer from. So it was either sink or swim, I choose to swim! So last summer I accepted the change to my circumstances and decided to put all my knowledge and creativeness into my art, and I have not looked back since.
Do you personally hand make all your items or do you also have help?
Yes I personally create and paint all my work by myself and with no other outside help or influence.
How can you be contacted?
You can email me at [email protected] or you can contact me on my website or facebook page.
Anything you would like to add/message to customers?
All I wish to say is that please do not hesitate to contact me about anything to do with my work. I am open to anything and would love any feedback. Also please remember I do commissioned work so if you like my style and would like me to paint anything for you, contact me. My prices are only high through galleries as they take a commission, so if you would like things cheaper or would like to offer me an amount, contact me via email or facebook.
Also for all my updates and info on what I am working on please subscribe to my blog on Word Press or just take a look, thank you. http://artistcharlottefarhan.wordpress.com/
